Dr Antony Vinh is an early career fellow who has recently established his own Cardiovascular Immunobiology Group in the Department of Pharmacology, Monash University. Dr Vinh completed his PhD in 2008 under the supervision of Prof Robert Widdop at Monash University. With support from an AHA postdoctoral fellowship, he then obtained postdoctoral training at Emory University, USA, under the mentorship of Dr David Harrison, with a research focus into immune mechanisms in hypertension. In 2011, Dr Vinh was recruited to join Monash as a Larkins Fellow and has concurrently held Heart Foundation Postdoctoral fellowships since 2011. His newly established lab continues high impact interdisciplinary research stemming from his training that marries the cardiovascular and immune systems in cardiovascular pathophysiology. Specific focus areas of research include functional contributions of T cells to the development of vascular dysfunction and hypertension, and imaging dynamic APC-T cell interactions within the vessel wall.
