I’m a research officer with MD background. I received my MD in 1996 at Tehran University and then worked as a GP more than 10 years before migration to Australia. I continued my education at Monash University in Australia and I finished my Master Part-1 in 2011 and PhD in 2015. I gained my research experience and knowledge in atherosclerosis, vascular biology and immunology during my MSc Part-1 and PhD education at Monash University and Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute under supervision of Professor Alex Bobik, Professor Ban-Hock Toh, A-Professor Peter Tipping and Dr. Tin Kyaw.
My research during last 5 years resulted me more than 10 publication in high impact journals such as Circulation, circulation research, Journal of Immunology, ATVB, CVR, PLoS ONE and Gene Therapy and few papers are in-press or under revision.
After My PhD, I joined Professor Karlheinz Peter as a research officer in Atherothrombosis and Cell Biology Lab at Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute.
My new studies mainly focus on the cellular mechanisms and encompassing the role of platelets, coagulation and inflammation in atherosclerosis, as well as the mechanisms leading to the rupture of atherosclerotic plaques, the final stage of atherosclerosis which precipitating MI or stroke.
