I received my PhD (with Distinction) from the University of Western Australia in 2010, for which I was awarded the 2010 UWA Robert Street Prize, for most outstanding PhD thesis across all disciplines. I am currently a Research Associate within the Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Laboratory in the School of Anatomy, Physiology and Human Biology, UWA. I am a career researcher and have held competitive funding as CIA since commencing my PhD in 2007, including a NHF/NHMRC Postgraduate Scholarship and NHF Postdoctoral Fellowship. My main research interest is to development preventative therapies for the treatment of ischemic heart disease and familial cardiomyopathies by targeting the cardiac L-type calcium channel.
