Since joining the Baker Institute in the 1980’s, I have had an interest in the role of the sympathetic nervous system in cardiovascular control during haemorrhage and various models of hypertension such as 2K1C, angiotensin-induced, obesity-related and chronic kidney disease. I was involved in the development of a chronic sympathetic nerve recording electrode and also use techniques such as single fibre recording and microinjection techniques to determine central neural receptors and pathways.
