Capacity Building Initiatives

Strengthening the research capacity and capability of Australia’s next generation is essential to sustaining a vibrant cardiovascular and stroke research sector. ACvA is committed to this goal through a range of initiatives, including professional development, leadership, mentoring, and networking opportunities.

To support this work, ACvA established the Emerging Leaders Committee (ELC), made up of Early and Mid-Career Researchers (EMCRs). The ELC works closely with ACvA’s leadership to identify key challenges and priorities facing EMCRs and to develop actions that build a strong and connected EMCR community.

Together, ACvA and the ELC have delivered mentoring programs, workshops, and national summits tailored to the needs of early and mid-career researchers. Being part of our EMCR community offers valuable opportunities to build leadership skills, expand networks, and engage across the broader cardiovascular research sector.
