Aligning Research with Health System Needs
The Cardiovascular Health Leadership Research Forum (CV HLRF) is a national platform established by ACvA to connect health systems, government, and the cardiovascular and stroke research community. Its purpose is to identify health system care variations, address system gaps and inequities, and support continuous improvement where research can play a role.
Historically, there was no formal mechanism to align health system priorities with research capabilities. ACvA founded the HLRF to bridge this gap by enabling collaboration between researchers and health system leaders to focus on the issues that matter most.
This Forum enables researchers to understand the most pressing health system needs in cardiovascular and stroke on a national basis and for the health system to tap into the wealth of knowledge and experience within the research community. Connecting these groups enables them to prioritise and tackle the issues that will make the most difference to Australia’s burden of cardiovascular disease and stroke.

To align research investment with system gaps and support a learning health system that continuously improves through data, evidence and innovation.
